On Thursday 15th September, South Wales Chamber of Commerce are delighted to announce that Tasha Danvers will share her amazing story. Tasha is a truly inspirational and determined athlete, who will provide us with an insight into how she has achieved so much.
Tasha took up athletics at Sydenham Girls School and started juggling her athletics and studies at Westminster University and Bromley College. She was then offered a scholarship at the University of Southern Carolina in Los Angeles.
In 2003, she set a personal best time of 54.02 which placed her second on the UK all-time list behind Sally Gunnell, former World Record Holder. A year later she took time off to give birth to her son. Seven months after giving birth, Tasha was back on the track competing at the National Championships. In 2006 not only was she back to being ranked no. 6 in the World but became Commonwealth Games Silver medalist. |
