The View From Across the Pond

The saying goes: when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. The global financial crisis may have started in the USA, but every country needs to take responsibility for the health of its own economy.
So what can America do to ensure that it doesn’t repeat the same mistakes, and how can Britain learn from the efforts being made to stabilise the world’s largest economy?
William M. Rodgers III, or Bill, as he refers to himself, was part of President Obama’s White House transition team, helping the incoming commander in chief and his staff with the nation’s most pressing issue: the economy.
He also served as chief economist at the U.S. Department of Labor under President Bill Clinton, and is a professor at Rutgers University, New Jersey.
The South Wales Chamber of Commerce is delighted to welcome Bill Rodgers, who will speak to delegates about what needs to be done to fix the Anglo-American business model.
