I would like to try to convey the usefulness of the entry process. Everyone has a business plan on the shelf, but how many revisit on a regular basis? The Chamber Awards entry makes you take stock of your current situation and compare it with the previous year.

At IAC, we have always found the Chamber to be very supportive and encouraging. At first, we entered the awards late, having been encouraged to do so by the Chamber team as we were considered to have a good chance in the exporter category. We won the small business award at the ceremony at the old Odeon and all had a good night (I am told).

Since then, we have tried to do things correctly and enter early so that we can get some idea on how we stand on a national scale. We have won several times since, though not in the local exporter category that we originally entered!
